Calendars can be used in a variety of ways. The fun thing about wall calendars is that there are so many to choose from. You can keep it simple, find one that fits your theme, or you can get one that is outrageous.
For this puzzle, players find a note or journal and it leads them to a wall calendar. A specific date is the combination of a lock.
Supplies Needed
- Wall Calendar
- Paper and Pen for Note
Set-Up Instructions
- Write on a piece of paper or in a journal a vague description of the image on one of the wall calendar months and the words month/date/year.
- On the calendar of that month, circle a single digit day and write something like “Important Day” in it’s box.
Puzzle Play:
- Players find a note or journal entry that describes a scene or image and the words month/date/year. This should lead them to the calendar.
- They flip through the months on the wall calendar and find the image described.
- In that month they see a date circled and some text in the box.
- They use the month, day, and year to open a four-digit lock.
Example:
Players find the note and it says, “Snoopy doesn’t like to ice skate” and “Month/Day/Year”.
One of the players notices the Peanuts wall calendar.
They flip through the calendar and find that the January image is of Lucy ice skating and Snoopy watching her with no ice skates on.
The 4 is circled and it says “Important Day”.
The code to the lock where they found the note or journal is 1 (month) 4 (day) 24 (year).
